29 Needles is a psycho-sexual body horror which follows Francis Bacon (played by newcomer Brooke Berry), a disturbed man with an obsession for pain and sex, as he explores his darkest sexual desires. These obsessions lead him to try things most wouldn't dream. The pain he inflicts upon himself is no longer working to hold back the horrors in his head. As he gives in to his most forbidden desires a whole new side of him awakens, a side that he no longer struggles to hide.
Filmed in Baltimore Maryland, over a three year period and on a budget of about $2,500, this is truly an independent film. The entire cast is amateur and was found on a variety of social-networking sites. Production began on the 12th of August 2006. The world premiere was at Nightmares Film Festival (2019) in the "Late Night Mind Fuck" time slot. It is currently available through Unearthed Films as the fourth installment of their Too Extreme for Mainstream line of films.
My work is meant to challenge. To push the boundaries of what is conventionally comfortable and "normal". My movies are meant to highlight aspects of the human condition in ways that evoke tones of anxiety, perversion, fear, and the things we do in our lives
to combat them. When we sit in what is uncomfortable - we discover how we survive through them.

Sound -
P. Andrew Willis (pandrewwillis.com) created an original score and was also the Sound Designer along with director Scott Philip Goergens. Willis created a masterful accompaniment to the disturbing landscape of the film. His work helped shaped the dread and tension that encompasses the film. https://pandrewwillis.bandcamp.com/album/29-needles |
